Log may be too long/short, may be “fuzzy” or have strange data spikes along the length. This is a scanner issue, refer to scanner troubleshooting: bad data Used in model.
If log is not in correct position on the carriage, refer to carriage referencing.
Does the Optimizer Face shown match the face on the log?
Enable “Highlight Opening Face” option on setup page, check the found board position drawn and restriction point in raw scan data, and compare with the actual log.
Knee calibration
Scanner calibration
Double cut system? Saw may behave differently for front/back cuts, backcut adder option to account for this does exist in newer software, but it only functions with Sets, Computes do not work right.
Kerf correct? Did they change saws? different saws may have different kerf sizes.
Knee calibration, If only the last cant, and first slab (opening face) is off size this may be the issue.
The set off distance is correct? Check stack board/kerf sizes and measure reality versus expected.
Double cut system? Saw may behave differently for front/back cuts, backcut adder option to account for this does exist in newer software, but it only functions with Sets, Computes do not work right.
Saw Deviation? Is the saw meandering through the cut.
Knee Calibration, is one knee off in calibration from the other? Cut a cant and measure at each knee.
